The Entry, Descent and Landing team celebrate after the successful landing of the Curiosity rover on Mars.

The Mars Science Laboratory mission’s Entry, Descent, and Landing team (EDL) celebrates the successful landing of NASA’s Curiosity rover on Mars. The rover touched down on the surface of the Red Planet the evening of Aug. 5, 2012 PDT (morning of Aug. 6, 2012 EDT).
